Logbook of George F. Powers' service in USS Raleigh, 1904-1906. Entries begin on November 19, 1904 and end on December 5, 1906. He describes a three month cruise in the Philippine Islands, the islands visited, maneuvers, the arrival of Russian cruisers that escaped the Battle of Tsushima, a cruise to Shanghai, Chefoo and Hong Kong, Alice Roosevelt Longworth's arrival in China and his trip to Peking, a visit to Japan, and his transfer to USS Ohio for the trip home. The log contains imprints, tickets, photographs, newspaper articles, menus, programs, calling cards, and hotel bills tipped in throughout.
